Leaders of the Future

Of course everyone talks about GenX, GenY and Boomers moving on. But do we really relate to what new generation leaders are like and are able to bring that's new to their roles... or how to bridge to them? If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video can be worth a million.

Here's one  12-minute video managers will find worth watching that I ran across. It's "recruiting director" Dave Lefkow speaking about how to get a better handle on job markets and how they develop. You get to see some great GenX style and thinking in action, including a question from an audience GenY-type later on and some insightful observations about the future of business, cities and the brain drain at the end: click to see video HERE.

This speaks about generations, YouTube technology and more. If you find it interesting you may want to check out Dave Lefkow, his blog http://www.directorofrecruiting.com/ or Dave Mendoza's Six Degrees from Dave, which I take to be an even more GenY approach to the world.

If there's any doubt that a different style of leader than the old "command-and-control" type is needed for these types of individuals, I think these links dispel that. Old-style leaders will have to run hard to catch up with where North American talent is headed. Imagine yourself trying to engage and excite this crew.
